Collective Evidence of Our Timeless Spiritual Natures
by Dr. Mark Pitstick
I have two important questions for you.
First, what would it take for you to be convinced that you really are a timeless spiritual being who eternally experiences life both before and after physical death? Are you like a Miami talk-show host who told me he would only believe in afterlife when he saw an embalmed corpse climb out of a casket? If so, you will have to wait until you pass over and see for yourself.
But maybe you are more open-minded than our radio host friend. Would you be convinced by knowing that many people—including renowned scientists and famous persons—have seen, heard, felt, and even smelled spirit beings? Would it help to know that many religious denominations in every religion believe in universal salvation, an eventual heavenly afterlife for all? What if you knew that ground-breaking research in many areas strongly indicates a continuity of consciousness both before and after “death”?
My second question is: if—as the evidence suggests—we really are immortal souls, how would that change your life? Would it help to know that you don’t really lose loved ones but are only separated for awhile? Could you better survive, and even thrive, through life’s changes if you deeply grasped that you are eternal by nature, an indestructible being of energy? Might this knowledge assist your life in many ways and improve the way you treat others and yourself?
When I was nineteen-years-old, I worked part-time as a respiratory therapist and after extensive training, I was ready to save lives. On one of my first calls to the emergency room, we worked on a five-year-old boy who had been hit by a truck. As we treated him, the story unfolded: he had been walking to his first day of kindergarten and was the only child of young parents. Despite hours of resuscitative care, he passed over from multiple internal injuries. In shock, I stumbled out into the hall just in time to see his parents’ faces contort in grief as a doctor told them the news.
I went outside and cursed God and this world. How could a loving and all-powerful God allow a little boy to die so tragically? What kind of world was this where innocent children suffer and die and parents experience such losses? Afterwards, I entered a period of agnosticism—of not knowing whether there really was any God or afterlife. After many years of intense searching, I have learned many wise, sensible answers to these difficult questions.
Before my research, I had to rely on religious faith alone and sometimes it didn’t seem like enough. Now I’m aware of much objective proof that supports my spiritual faith. Having a broad based knowledge and a faith-filled perspective is the best foundation for full potential living. Much wise and wide-ranging evidence strongly indicates that your real self does not “die.” The more you glimpse that good news, the more you will be set free to live with joy, peace, courage, and total vitality.
Much evidence indicates a continuity of consciousness both before and after this physical life. If we really are beings of energy, we are beyond time. As such, the term afterlife is really a misnomer since life is eternal: past, present, and future—it’s all life. In addition, there is ample evidence for an eventual heavenly afterlife for all. The concept of universal salvation posits that all souls have unlimited opportunities to enter the Light and eternity to choose a life in alignment with Spirit.
Throughout my research, I have especially sought out validation cases that can be confirmed and are difficult or impossible to explain otherwise. Taken together, this evidence strongly points to the reality of our timeless soul nature and, hence, a heavenly and exciting afterlife for all. Here is a brief overview of the nine categories of evidence:
This vast and varied amount of evidence strongly indicates that we each truly are timeless spiritual beings who can endlessly enjoy life throughout eternity. It is virtually impossible for any serious reader to reject all nine categories of evidence that often contain verifiable aspects.
By the way, a secondary meaning of the book’s title indicates that we each are soul-proof just as a watch is shockproof or waterproof. This book proves what religions have taught for millennia: life is eternal albeit constantly changing. More accurate terms for dying—such as “changing worlds” or “crossing over”—better convey its secure, transitional nature. Much indisputable information indicates that death is not a “good-bye” but a “see you later.” The evidence in Soul Proof provides an immense amount of reassurance and comfort that this is so.
The many benefits of an internalized knowing about your true soul nature are both personally and world transformative and include:
Really knowing that the afterlife will be a positive experience liberates all people to live with hope, peace, and passion. It allows them to explore and enjoy the many splendors on this planet without the dark clouds of death anxiety on the horizon. Significant and internalized knowing—not just superficial belief—about our eternal soul natures eradicates or diminishes grief over “lost” loved ones due to death or relationship changes.
In my own life, and in the lives of all those I’ve have been privileged to teach and touch, I’ve observed a new, powerful awareness emerging. The realization that we each are timeless spiritual beings empowers us to dramatically change our lives, beliefs, and energies for the better. Suffering, aging, and physical challenges are easier to manage with grace and empowerment when we truly know that this lifetime is only a very small fraction of eternity. Soul Proof gives people the ability to really know they are immortal beings and live accordingly.
When we fully understand the continuity of our own existence, we have the opportunity to improve our lives and thus spread our light across the world. Quantum increases in enlightenment can powerfully transform each of us and help usher in an era of widespread and lasting harmony, wholeness, and justice.
